We are so honored to have an overflow of support from all of our friends, family, neighbors, community, partners, restaurant owners and countless more. Many generous people have started fundraising events for us. Below is our current list of fundraisers and dinners in Seattle and Whidbey Island. If you are planning to host a benefit for the Smith Family and Willowood Farm, please know that your efforts are greatly appreciated even if we cannot respond to your questions about it at the time. Slow Food Whidbey and Local Island Chefs come together to host a community-driven fundraiser in support of Willowood Farm following the catastrophic fire on Monday, March 6th. Enjoy farm-to-table tastings from each participating chef, beer, and wine. Each of these renowned Chefs shares a personal connection to Farmer Georgie and the amazing produce that she has proudly grown for years. The destructive nature of the fire resulted in widespread losses. The extent of the damages will potentially lead to the loss of yet another family owned and operated farm. This is an opportunity for all of us to stand in support of those that have embodied the spirit of sustainable agriculture.

Tuesday, July 11, 2017 @ 4PM – $225*

Host Farmer: Georgie Smith, Willowood Farm, Whidbey Island, WA (Seattle Area)

Guest Chef: Jason Stratton, MBar, Seattle, WA

Georgie Smith and friends. Chef Jason of MBar and farmer Georgie go way back. When chefs buy directly from farmers, they get a lot more than just vegetables. Relationships begun around the plate often extend beyond the table. We will celebrate friendship, both the two of them and a table of 150 new friends. Whidbey Island farms are surrounded by beauty and nature on all sides. Beauty all around and beautiful vegetables right in front of us.

Wednesday, July 12, 2017 @ 4PM – $225*

Host Farmer: Georgie Smith, Willowood Farm, Whidbey Island, WA (Seattle Area)

Guest Chef: Stuart Lane, Spinasse, Seattle, WA

Welcome back. A double-header at Georgie’s place, this time with the same cast of characters as last year. Coming back means feeling that much closer, and that closeness is fuel for a chef’s creative passion. The farm is among scenic coastal hiking trails. Working up an appetite before arriving at the table is a good idea. Chef Stuart Lane was chef de cuisine at Spinasse with head chef Jason Stratton before Jason left to start his own place – MBar. Now Stuart heads up the kitchen at this Seattle fave, and we’re stoked to have him come out to the farm.

* Recently a devastating fire destroyed the iconic Willowood barn. Proceeds from both Willowood events will go to the rebuilding of the barn.
